Job Summary We are an established global food and beverage consulting company providing risk reduction services and crisis response support to our clients.  Our group is experiencing a period of fast growth and we are looking for an experienced Account Manager to join our dynamic and high energy team. This position requires the multi-tasking and problem solving, and qualified candidates will possess the ability to work independently. As an Account Manager, you will be an intricate team member and will own a variety of responsibilities. Your day-to-day activities will vary but will always remain focused on providing sales and marketing support for existing accounts and prospects.

Responsibilities

The Acheson Group, TAG, is a global leader in food safety consulting and is looking for a Manager of Food Safety to join our team of subject matter experts.  This position will report to a Director of Food Safety in TAG.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert in food safety.
  • Conducts desktop and onsite review of clients’ food safety programs to identify regulatory and food safety gaps and opportunities.
  • Writes reports related to desktop and onsite client visits including recommendations for improvements.
  • Solves issues involving clients, regulatory agencies, technical trade matters and food standards organizations, which requires a strong sense of creativity, tact, and decisiveness.
  • Keeps abreast of the latest innovations in the food and related industries and facilitate awareness of new regulatory changes, processes, technology, systems and procedures

Qualifications:
  • Degree in food science, food microbiology, or related sciences
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in managing food safety risks in a food manufacturing setting
  • Familiarity with FDA/USDA regulations and GFSI certification programs
  • Comfortable working in a virtual environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills communicating with colleagues and clients
  • Self-motivated, energetic, creative, and driven individual
  • Critical thinker
  • Ability to simplify difficult problems into actionable and solvable tasks
  • Work independently to effectively manage evolving priorities and meet timelines

Experience in:
  • Writing Food Safety or HACCP plans
  • Dietary supplement manufacturing and implementation of programs regulated under 21 CFR Part 111
  • Managing environmental monitoring programs in a food manufacturing environment
  • Managing Foreign Supplier Verification Programs
